Nearing RBI's Target: Prices Closing In

In India, retail inflation has reached an 18-month low of 4.7% in April, with notable declines in vegetable, oil, and fat prices. This significant drop brings inflation closer to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) target of 4%, according to government data released on Friday. It's the second consecutive month that Consumer Price Index-based inflation has remained within the RBI's comfort zone of below 6%. The government has mandated the central bank to maintain retail inflation at 4% with a margin of 2% on either side.
